Photography Contest – Theme of this contest: “People Enjoying the Parks”.  The LaPorte County Park wants to see your best and most creative photos!  Winner will be on the Naturally Speaking Cover for the December issue.  Check out the entry form on line.  Entry deadline is September 1, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. www.laportecountyparks.org  Photo’s are worth a thousand words….

 

Teachers             Groups               Scout Leaders 

Free Environmental Education Programs are offered to groups throughout the year.  The programs last one hour or longer  depending on the group size and age.  Programs can be scheduled at Creek Ridge Park, Luhr Park, Bluhm Park or 

Red Mill Park.  Call for more information and to make your reservations today at 219.324.5855.

Parent and Child Discovery Days

Wednesday nights at Luhr County Park. 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. An adult is required to participate in the programs with the child.

For ages 3 - 5. $5 per program
. Pre-registration is required.

Stroller, Baby, and You 

Fun filled programs at Luhr.  Enjoy  music, dance with your kids, giggle, & storytelling, take a hike &  just have plain ole fun.  

For ages Toddlers - Pre-School 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. 

FREE -  Pre-registration is required. Call one week in advance

October 5 - “Pop! Goes the Weasel”

Pioneer Days

September 26th & 27th

10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Creek Ridge County Parks

$2 for Adults / $1 Child or Seniors 

Step into the past , visit with historically clad re-enactors and vendors.  Bring the whole family and experience outdoor cooking, crafts, candle dipping, wagon rides, food, and much more.

Trunk or Treat

  Trick or Treat from car to car in the parking lot at the Park. 

Decorate your vehicles & provide some “Halloween Treats”

   to share.  Car & costume judging with prizes; arts & crafts, wagon rides, bonfire, and much more. 

Saturday, October 24th

 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. at Red Mill Park

$5 each/$15 family - Pre-registration is required.

Kitchen Chemistry 

Grab your apron & mix up some fun.  We will make some crazy concoctions & silly fun recipes with Chef Cathy Dye.  Walk away with some recipes & a tummy filled with yummy food  at Red Mill County Park.  Aprons are suggested but not required. 

Saturday, December 5th 9:00 a.m.- 12 noon Sharp!
